[It's a strange enough thing to hear that Ei has gotten him anything, but to have her also go out of her way to visit, bringing it to him, is an even more foreign concept that Kunikuzushi barely considers is something actually happening, until the knock on the door.
He opens the door, eyeing the basket before turning and wandering back into the house to allow Ei to let herself in. The home itself is quaint, larger on the inside than it looked from the outside much like a domain. A small praying shrine and other decorating choices make it rather fitting for the samurai he lived with, though the immortal has a few of his own personal touches about - mainly the tank of onikabuto in the living room and the rather questionable series of books on the shelf beneath them.]
[ Had this been much closer to her arrival here, it may not have been something she would have considered but she's made long strides to try and make things up to him. In a way it was akin to her taking responsibility and stepping into the role she'd been avoiding for some time, and even now, Ei isn't sure she's even doing a good job of it.
Once he'd opened the door, her smile grew even more bright as she followed him inside, all the while taking in the little details here and there. Overall it seemed cozy and comfortable, which made her honestly quite happy but kept that to herself for now. ]
I am quite aware, but it's been a little while and I wanted to see you. Felt it would be unkind if I didn't bring something, and I know you share my penchant for sweets.
[ She'd remembered how small and fragile he seemed back then, and how he now stood much taller with more confidence. Kunikuzushi had truly become his own person, after all. ]
